a story about a proposal under a waterfall
These photos of Justin proposing to Roxy, may be amongst my all-time-favourite pictures. It took about a month of planning with Justin (our intrepid groom-to-be) to pull together the perfect treasure hunt across Durban for his Roxy. The treasure hunt route was their love story, told through their journey through Durban. Escorted by a revolving cast of friends and family at each stop, Roxy eventually made her way to the last destination of the day - the waterfalls at Makaranga. The plan that Justin, myself and Nicole (the maid-of-honour-to-be) had made was that he would give us a signal just before he arrived, so we would have time to hide out of sight. As these things tend to be, in a daze of love (and slight nervousness), Justin completely forgot to give us the signal. A sharp-eyed Nicole, seeing Justin and Roxy walking down the path - almost looking directly at us - managed to push us into the bush, tripod and all, just in time before they walked past us. Thankfully, Roxy, herself in a daze of love and confusion, missed us (and the bottle of champagne left on the path that we forgot about). After giving Justin a three minute head start for his proposal, I sprinted up the path just in time to capture these photos.
